Back in the 1980's when I was attending college at Arizona State University I was enrolled in a program called Intermedia, the program that would eventually become Media Arts, focused on Performance, Installation, and Video art. Oddly enough when I got out of school my ceramic sculptures took off and I found myself being represented by one of the biggest galleries in the southwest Elaine Horwitch. Approximately twelve years ago I decided it was time to broaden my horizons and go back to school. Since my original focus was with non traditional art forms it seemed natural for me to go into computer art and animation. I learned to write HTML in notepad. The first WYSIWYG's I used were go live and Director 7. The first time I touched Flash was version 3. CSS had not taken hold and downloads could take hours. Since those early days technologies have changed radically. I have seen myself go from working as a Graphic Designer to an Interface Developer, Animation Designer, Web and Animation Instructor, Web Developer at Los Alamos National Labs and finally Web Director for the New Mexico Tourism Department. The links to the left represent a number of sites I have built for friends clients and at work. If some seem old fashioned it's because they are. New sites are on the way so check back soon. |
